Leicester Glass has been processing glass, in-house, for over thirty years. We continue to invest in more modern equipment which allows us to maintain a quick, professional service and offer the highest quality products. We can process float glass, laminated glass and mirrors. Float panes can be toughened after processing. Our processing services include: Polishing. Our latest investment in processing machinery is a 'flat and arise' in-line polishing machine, manufactured by Adelio Lattuada - Italy.
Flat polished edge-work is more in demand today, it leaves a cleaner more modern finish. We do, however, also still have a conventional 'pencil' edge straight-line polisher. We can polish straight edged glass from 3mm to 19mm thick, in-house, and to order up to 25mm thick. The Lattuada also offers one extra key service. It has the facility to process straight edges of glass into a fully variable, polished miter angled finish. This has allowed us to offer clients glass with precision edges suitable for glazing in modern complex designs like multifaceted but-joined systems. Miters have also been utilised to give near invisible joints when UV bonded together and to decorate mirrors. We polish shaped panes by hand. Both internal and external curves can be processed. Drilling We drill and countersink glass in-house. Glass and mirrors of any thickness can be drilled and we offer drilled holes from 4mm to 36mm. We put holes in glass to allow fixing, they can also be used to facilitate air (ventilation) or sound movement through a pane. In certain situations drilling can allow abnormal cuts to be made in a panel that would otherwise be troublesome. Slotting We offer a slotting services to clients for glass doors.
